Guided Decision Spread

New for 2023, I have created The Guided Decision Spread. Not sure why I hadn’t done this earlier.

This spread helps one decide between two (or more) choices by showing likely and potential outcomes for each.

As with all of my spreads, guidance is provided to improve each option.

The Question:

The first three positions describe aspects and characteristics related to the decision.

Position 1 – The Decision

Position one provides basic information on the decision in question. As position one, this card shows what is apparent, on the surface, and likely well understood by the querent.

Position 2 – Underlying Aspect

Position two could provide information on those aspects less apparent. It indicates what is at work beneath the surface. This card reveals the true value of the current decision, the place from which real growth begins. Position one and two together paint a more complete picture of the current situation.

Position 3 – The Past

Position three highlights significant aspects of the past related to this decision. It might show what person(s), circumstance(s), or condition(s) led to this decision.

The Options:

The following five positions apply to each choice (A and B), but can be repeated for as many option as one wishes to consider.

Position A/B 1 – Advantage

This position indicates the advantages one might find selecting this option. A negative card could illustrate a problem that is solved via this choice.

Position A/B 2 – Disadvantage

This position indicates the disadvantage to making this choice. A positive card may indicate there isn’t that much of a downside here.

Position A/B 3 – Initial Outcome

This position shows the likely outcome experienced when choosing this option (as it appears from this point in time). This is likely, and near in time, but not guaranteed.

Position A/B 4 – Guidance

This position provides advice for improving the outcome of this choice if and when selected. With every choice, you take yourself with you, so you can always improve things as you move forward.

Position A/B 5 – Higher Outcome

This position shows the Querent what is possible if the guidance at position A/B four is followed. If this card is more negative than that in position A/B three, it could be guiding you to endure the challenge in order to heal or improve an underlying condition. In this case, refer back to Positions two and three in the first section of the reading to gain more insight.
