Is a Profound Healing Afoot?

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote an article (currently only on Substack) focused on Jupiter’s opposition with Pluto, which will occur on July 20.

Righteous Indignation

When I wrote that, I wasn’t at all paying attention to Chiron.

Today, we are one week away from Jupiter’s ingress into Leo.

Chiron, after 8 years in Aries, moved into Taurus less than one week ago. Chiron first dipped into Aries in Spring of 2018 and then pulled back out in Autumn. Then, in late winter 2019, Chiron moved back in for the long haul. Note that the whole of the Covid era occurred with Chiron moving through Aries.

Chiron takes 50 years to make a full orbit, but because its path is highly elliptical, it spends much more time in some signs than others. Four would be the average, so its time in Aries was twice that.

I have said in the past that Astrology is about time and space. The lines in a chart show the alignment of objects in space. However, when events happen close in time, I consider those just as significant. And in this last third of June, we have both occurring simultaneously.

From June 19th through the 30th, three ‘planets’ change signs:

  • 6/19 – Chiron enters Taurus
  • 6/28 – Mars enters Gemini
  • 6/30 – Jupiter enters Leo

Jupiter and Chiron are square to each other throughout this time. And while Mars is not as significantly aligned with them (sextile and semi-sextile), it is approaching a conjunction with Uranus and thus aligning with the other outers.

Chiron is called the wounded healer, representing a very powerful archetype. Wounding is a part of life, but is also a strong motivator. One must always consider the oyster—were it not for the irritation of a grain of sand, a pearl would not be created. Necessity is the mother of invention. There is no better person to help others overcome an obstacle than one who has already done that very deed.

No matter where you stand regarding the truth about Covid and the mRNA vaccines, this Chiron-in-Aries time was one of strong wounding. And while the whole world was affected by this ‘global pandemic’, each was hurt or harmed (or not) in a very individualized way. The first time I got sick in that window was not until January 2023, and it was nothing but a typical flu for me, albeit one where I lost my sense of smell. Yet so many of my past friendships ended in that window—some quietly, some loudly.

Mars will spend about 6 weeks in Gemini, so no alignments it joins will last too long. Jupiter is chugging along these days as well, so while it will be in Leo for a full year, it is moving forward well at the moment.

Chiron is not a planet. It is a hybrid: asteroid and comet, depending on where it is in its orbit. During this part of its cycle, where its apparent movement through the zodiac is slow, it is akin to an outer planet.

For the past two years, I have been focused on, following, and intermittently writing about this very unique time where all the outer planets will have entered and reside in new signs within a small window…and I can’t believe that I neglected to notice that Chiron is right there among them. The fact that it snuck into Taurus just more than one week before Jupiter, which was the last of the outer planets to move into place, is simply icing on the cake.

Taurus rules the body. It is also one of the two signs most focused on wealth. The 2nd house, which Taurus rules, relates to what we possess, including our values and our bodies—because, remember, we are a soul with a body, not a body with a soul.

Not to be left out of the parade, the lunar nodes, which move in retrograde motion, are also about to change signs. On the 30th, as shown in the chart, they will occupy the 1st degree of Pisces-Virgo, then in mid-August move into the last degree of Aquarius-Leo. Notice how they too are aligned with the major players.

Look at the chart again. An abbreviated way to consider this is all the red lines represent challenges, obstacles, conflicts, confrontations, wounds, or losses…in other words, irritating and painful grains of sand. All of the blue lines are those juices that flow into solving, surpassing, rising above, and healing all of those issues…the creating of pearls.

Soon, I might write an article focusing on the birth chart of Spencer Pratt, as he is such a perfect example for this time. Were it not for his house and his mother’s house burning down, he wouldn’t be as motivated to fight and inform as he has been. And I have a feeling that Jupiter moving into Leo, his sun sign, will empower him even further.

On June 30th, the sun and moon will be one day past full opposition (the Capricorn full moon) thus forming a t-square with the midpoint between Neptune and Saturn. Chiron occupies the apex of the t-square between Jupiter and Pluto. One cannot consider the Jupiter-Pluto opposition without paying attention to Chiron’s participation. And Mars-Uranus form a t-square with the lunar nodes…bridging the past and the future.

Sometimes tensions need to reach a climax before we get off of our lazy asses and actually take steps for our own healing and benefit. That particular t-square (Jupiter-Chiron-Pluto) is fixed representing the most stubborn and long lasting of issues that may ebb and flow but have been a persistent source of discomfort. Can you think of any world conflicts that fit that model: stubborn, persistent, and long lasting? Can you think of about a thousand of them? Are they not all throbbing with irritation right now?

We are truly in unprecedented times and perhaps this can provide for some unprecedented solution and resolution. If you ask me, it’ll also include some revolution and then evolution.

I’m ready to move forward (or nearly so). Are you?

I’m ready to see more joy in the world again. Are you?

I’m willing to apply some discipline and focus to productively participate. Are you?

You get to choose. Each of us has a unique calling.
