Used and Abused

This morning, I was up well before dawn having woken from a moderately disturbing dream. In that dream, I was having a discussion with a woman that left me feeling a bit vulnerable. The last part I remember was that I was bleeding.

I shook off the dream and decided to check out the Moon as I could see its light shining through the trees. I then remembered that Venus and Jupiter would also be up, so I put on my slaps and headed outside. Today and for the next day or two, the three form a line in the sky. At that hour, Venus was fairly low in the East, then Jupiter well above, and then the moon high.

As I stared at Venus, I came to the realization that I was used and abused by her recently. She’s sleeping around with some powerful men, and now I’m left licking my wounds.

First up is this:

What you see here (the blue part) is Venus Trine Neptune. When Venus and Neptune trysts, it is not good news for the rest of us. Well, it feels great for a minute or two, but it’s not likely to work out. Under a configuration like this, you can meet the man or woman of your dreams to find out that you were, in fact, only dreaming. Too good to be true is just that – untrue.

The love that Venus rules is the most human of love: the falling in love, the love that drives us mad at times, the love that keeps us under the control of outside forces. And Neptune, being the powerful sea creature that he is, knows all about feelings and emotions. He swims better than the rest of us and if you’re at all susceptible to seasickness, you had best stay on the land.

The Venus-Neptune Trine peaked yesterday, so it is still strong, but was worst (for me) when Mercury was still going backward. But of course! When better to manipulate a man than when he can’t think straight? Oh, pretty, young thing, I concede. You win.

Next up and in less than a week, Venus will form a T-Square with Pluto and Uranus (shown in red).  She does get around, doesn’t she?

Truth be told, I don’t know what to make of this. With Neptune, Venus was completely in cahoots with his plan. But it’s not like there is a clear leader in this coming configuration. Maybe Venus will take advantage of the other two. Maybe she’ll mediate. Maybe she’ll align with Pluto over Uranus. In any case, I’m sure there’ll be potential for our sore heartstrings to be plucked once more. Or maybe it’ll just be a little salt on our wounds.

Now, as you know, I always reach for purpose. Perfection of the Universe says everything has a role to play in our development. I fell victim to Neptune and Venus because I am susceptible to them (they oppose each other in my natal chart). But look at the two charts above a second time. Notice the Node of the Moon in the first chart, and Chiron in the second. These silent onlookers are hugely significant. They tell me that Venus and the others are here simply to show us some things about ourselves. If you believe too strongly her provocative flirtations, than maybe you’re not seeing clearly what-is.

The Journey of the Fool is from where you are to where you want to be, so seeing the present accurately is oh so important. How often do we fool ourselves?

Mercury is going forward, but is still trailing the Sun. That means, although we can start looking ahead, we still have to deal with our past actions. We’re not supposed to be beating ourselves up over it. We’re supposed to be gaining an understanding of our wounds so we can continue to heal them properly. We are supposed to be observing our feelings, even the ones we’ve been repressing. Neptune does want us to build our dream. And Venus wants us to find love. But there is a real way to create it, and a way that is idle fantasy.

The entire Universe conspires to help us get from where we are to where we want to be. We still have the make the journey, however…
