Solar Return

Today is the birthday of a dear friend. Her Solar Return, however, was yesterday. Solar Return Readings are intriguing. They use the return of the sun to the spot when you were born to illuminate the road ahead for the coming year. We only use the current position of the planets. In that regard, it is something we all can relate to – even if it hits us in different ways or for a different duration.

If you happen to be a Leo or Leo rising, then this chart is also a transit chart for you. So it reads like a horoscope.

Venus in Leo in the 1^st house: You are an artist. But so is everyone else. An artist is simply a person who creates beauty and expresses love. We all do that in our own unique ways. But Venus in the 1^st house is about identifying yourself as an artist.

Say: “I am an artist.” How do the words feel as you annunciate them? Leo here reminds us that identities are ego. As soon as we say we are this, then we aren’t  that. But Leo rules the 5^th house, which is about creating. In this case, it is not just about creating art, but also creating a happy and successful life as an artist.

Saturn in Scorpio in the 4^th house: Saturn has just recently started moving forward. In this chart, Saturn is the pointy foundation to the majority of the chart. Building a Scorpio foundation is not easy. First, one has to find the bottom of the sea. Then one has to dig. And then one has to pour the cement…all the way up to the surface. Yes, you have been digging for a long time, but now it is time to start working your way back up!

Neptune/Chiron in Pisces in the 8^th house:  Your work as a healer and a mystic continues. The abundance of water in your chart is your connection – not only to others, but to divine insight and the Divine Feminine.

Chiron in Pisces in the 8^th house: Others simultaneously touch your wounds and provide opportunities to heal (you and them). That is the gift of the wounded healer. By remembering our wounds, we know how to help others.

Both Chiron and Neptune are retrograde. I see this as accessing the Akashic Records. It is in looking back that we find what is needed to move forward.

Mars (conjunct Jupiter) in Cancer in the 11^th house: Rome was not built in a day. Neither are our most cherished aspirations. Keep Mars connected to your heart, your dreams, your loves, and your art and you will never run out of energy to do it all!

Mars square Moon: Stay true to what matters the most: family and close friends. The square challenges you by seemingly pitting your home life against your aspirations. If it seems as if there’s a trade off, then you just haven’t (yet) found the right approach. Keep digging and searching.

Pluto in Capricorn in the 6^th house: You work is about to change. It is changing. It has been changing for…ever. But you’ll begin to see those changes. Pluto is the top of your kite; keep reaching for that transformation and allow it to elevate your spirits…and your service to us all.

Sun in Cancer in the 12^th house: You are emotional, loving, nurturing, caring, yet you don’t want everyone to see you that way. You don’t need to. It will show to those with the eyes to see. It will be seen by those you touch. The rest who don’t or can’t see it, pay them no mind. Returning to Venus in the 1^st house: it matters not what others think of you. It only matters what you call yourself. Call yourself an artist, and a healer, that that is what you are and that is the path you will walk.
