Aries-Libra Nodal Opposition

Over the years, I have written about the lunar nodes repeatedly, which are also known as the Nodes of Fate. In the past, I have described them as An Orienting Force.

For the rest of 2024, the north node will slowly move (backward) through Aries while the south node moves through Libra. The nodes always opposed. They don’t just form a straight line, they establish a vector because the direction is always from the south node to the north node.

To describe Libra in the simplest of terms, I would say it is all about harmonizing with others. Harmony is not something that is readily achieved. It can require communication, understanding, and investigation. Many would say that it requires compromise—a give and take. Libra is relational and also desires justice and balance.

The opposite of Libra is Aries. Aries, in a nutshell, is all about the individual. It encompasses all of the following: self-expression, self-identity, self-discovery, fighting for oneself, fighting for one’s beliefs, values, and morals, in other words: sovereignty.

When you consider the multitude of issues many are facing these days, do they not relate to all of the above?

Some people are much more inclined toward the Libra way of life. They align with groups; they go with the flow. They don’t like to rock the boat. Collectivists fall into this category as well. In fact, they give up sovereignty choosing to adopt a collectivist label. Even if they don’t fully align with their group, they downplay those differences.

Others clearly align and promote the Aries side of this dipole. These people value freedom and sovereignty over all else.

I would argue that the powers-that-be want nothing more than full collectivism. They place themselves in one group (and call themselves the elite), and they want all of the rest of us in the other.

Be it due to the astrological influences upon us presently, or coincidentally so, I absolutely see this opposition playing out in a big way—not just out there, but inside of myself as well.

The governments’ tyrannical response to the so-called pandemic forced every single person to make decisions: to go along with what [they] demanded of you, or to stand up for yourself (and those around you).

Now some would argue that they did in fact stand up for their own beliefs, values, and morals, they’ll simply claim they were in full agreement with the demands. I would argue that at its core, they did not do this.

For example, the very same people who often argue for bodily autonomy, let that fly out the door when it came to masks and the vaccines. They were pro-choice within one subject, and pro-mandate on the other.

In my mind, if you descend to core values, we would all agree. We all desire the freedom to be who we really are and desire the freedom to pursue what we truly want. We all want to be loved and accepted for who we are and at the same time, we want to become and experience something better.

The bigger difference is some are willing to take risks in their journey and others are not. Aries is less afraid of risks. Aries is more compelled within its own journey. Libra, which truly desires connection with others, is much more inclined toward harmony, and is much more willing to pursue that foremost.

In my opinion, freedom is not a right as much as it simply is. We ARE free. We think what we choose to think. We are so free, we can choose to give up exercising that freedom. We may say we don’t have a choice in various situations, but it was our choice to think about it that way. (I know, I know, this is a concept most won’t align with. We have been moved so far away from the idea of absolute freedom, we can hardly even imagine it any longer.)

I have written about this before, whenever we feel as if there are only two avenues, we are not seeing things accurately. I think this is how the idea of freedom has been eroded. I also think [they] promote control over the masses by pushing all subjects into A vs B. Not only do they corral us this way, they have also been pushing us further and further apart.

In my birth chart, my north node is in Aries and my south node is in Libra. One could say that I am coming from Libra and have as my purpose to pursue (and perhaps become) more Aires. One needn’t abandon one side to hone and develop the other.

I encourage everyone to pursue what they desire. I also encourage everyone to hone and listen to their intuition as much as possible.

Life is pressing upon us. It is actively inspiring us to choose. We are choosing nevertheless.

Be as aware as you can. Explore what options are available to you. If you don’t see many, then look a bit more closely. If you feel you have no choice but to go along with something you don’t fully resonate with, push on that limitation a bit.

Fear is a legitimate challenge. I would not ask anyone to simply disregard it. I have compassion for those who are in fear. None of us is truly fearless.

The orientation of the nodes suggests the Universe is inspiring us to bolster more sovereignty over simply going along with the group.

Not everyone is being called to the fight. Some have no desire to fight for the rights of others or even themselves. Some will simply go along with the group as it is the easiest and safest thing to do.

If you look inside, if you observe your feelings, your desires, your fears, and the conflicts rising up in your life, you will know where you are being guided. Doesn’t mean you have to go. You do still have the freedom to choose.
